Green Professionals™ are always on the look out for valuable training opportunities for our members. We partner with organisations that have similar values to ourselves andwhere possible secure special discounts for our members. At this time we have identified two groups, Aspin Learning and Ceres Environment Park, who are offering training we believe is complimentary to the pursuits of our members.

In the future we will be endeavoring to provide training opportunities in the areas of Residential Mandatory reporting, Commercial Environmental Audits for small and medium sized enterprises (SME's) and Carbon Accounting.

CERES is an internationally recognised model of a sustainable society located in Melbourne, Australia. CERES shares its name with the Roman Goddess for agriculture.

CERES is located on 4.5 hectares (10 acres) on the banks of the Merri Creek, in East Brunswick, close to the centre of Melbourne. CERES runs on renewable energy,  conserves and recycles its water and waste, grows organic food; and teaches diverse audiences about more just and environmentally friendly ways of living. What makes the CERES concept particularly compelling is that sustainability initiatives are located in a participatory social setting which, over time, has created a village-like environment, made up of a melting pot of different audiences.

Course Description This is an introductory workshop for renters and homeowners and includes answers to those tricky questions, like "What is energy?" "What am I really using?" and "How do I make a positive change to reduce my impact on the planet AND reduce my energy bills?" This workshop covers the basics for doing your own energy audit and provides tips and techniques for personal and household energy use reduction.

Green Professionals sister company; Sustainable Footprint, in collaboration with Aspin Group, are offering places in a One day Professional Development Course: Develop a Sustainability Policy for your Workplace - Assist in improving your Bottom Line.

Sustainable Footprint is proud to be offering this essential one day workshop in collaboration with Aspin Group. There are no pre-requisites for attendees wishing to participate in this course. Participants will receive a certificate of attendance and may choose to complete an assessment task to receive an accredited unit. Aspin Group is a registered training organisation (RTO) delivering nationally accredited courses and short courses in Victoria.

This course will assist you to:

• Develop a workplace sustainability policy to meet your organisation's needs

• Work with staff to implement the policy to improve the bottom line

• Establish reporting systems for finance & environment

• Evaluate & improve your systems to meet industry standards and requirements

• Evaluate which sustainable policies matter to your financial results

• Develop sustainable policies such as Triple bottom line & government green purchasing

• Gain understanding & appreciation of current & proposed legislation in sustainability sector
